Cavs, and Lakers in trade talks for Gasol and Bynum swap

Posted by shawn cassidy on January 1, 2014 at 4:15 AM Comments comments (0)

I was thinking about this Bynum thing a day after he was suspended, and I thought the Lakers would come up again, but never like this. With the Lakers losing Kobe once again, they have waved the white flag in some ways. They have no chance, so why not "tank" a bit, and at the same time shed cash ...

Kobe out 6 weeks with knee, is this the end of "Great" Kobe?

Posted by shawn cassidy on December 20, 2013 at 2:10 AM Comments comments (3)

Kobe's willpower brought him back to the court this month and even brought back flashes of greatness. But it wasn't enough to keep him from getting injured again, and provides no guarantee that it won't happen another time to the 35 year old. The Lakers took a big risk gi...

I can't believe the league didn't allow Paul to the Lakers, and I'm gald they did even if it was probably wrong of them.

Kobe signs two-year extension

Kobe doesn't want to win his 6th ring does he? Thank you Kobe for being selfish. Kobe had an opportunity to take a pay cut, but he decided to take the money, and I guess if your offered 48 million for the next two seasons you take it. Let's not forget that he's making 30 million this season, and he ...

Kobe in talks with Lakers for contract extension

Posted by shawn cassidy on October 28, 2013 at 1:50 AM Comments comments (0)

Kobe Bryant was recently ranked the 25th best player in the NBA by ESPN. Agree with that or not, Kobe is an old 35, and I think he's seen his last ring. Unless Kobe is willing to take less money, and I don't think he's willing to do that.

Kobe is really pushing an early return. It makes sense, he's 35 with very few years left in the NBA.

Kobe Bryant still reportedly a few weeks away from being able to run at 100 percent

I'm jealous, why can't this be about Rondo? This news doesn't mean he's cleared for activity during camp, or during the preseason. I do believe his goal is opening night. Will see how that goes for Kobe. I believe  the Achilles injury that he suffered in April wil...

Ron Artest picks Finals for Lakers

Posted by shawn cassidy on September 19, 2013 at 12:50 AM Comments comments (2)

This is coming from Ron Artest, so I won't take it serious. I don't even see the Lakers reaching the playoffs, and that's for the fact that Kobe won't be starting this season until two or three months into the season, unless he pulls off a crazy comeback. The Lakers at best will be a low seed...

It's been awhile since I've talked about our heated rival. The answer to the question is that yest Mike is in trouble. Look how quickly Mike Brown was fired.

Kobe Not Sure When He Will Return

Posted by shawn cassidy on August 17, 2013 at 5:15 AM Comments comments (0)

Kobe will make roughly 30 million this season, and we don't even know when he will a  NBA court. I think most of us agree that the Lakers won't win their 12th banner in LA this coming season. I do like most of you here, wish Kobe the best of luck. I don't see Kobe winning another title in the NBA, unless the Lakers pull off a miracle next summer, or if th...

Kobe doesn't agree with ESPN's ranking of the Lakers

Posted by shawn cassidy on August 15, 2013 at 12:00 AM Comments comments (4)

I love how ESPN predicts the Lakers to finish 12th in the West, but at the same time they have the third most televised games in 2013-14. I know why, the Lakers are in the second largest market in the country. They also have one of the most followed players in Kobe Bryant.

Jeanie Buss: Kobe should be a Laker for life

Pierce discussed the fact that he was upset that the Celtics didn't commit to him like the Lakers have with Kobe, or the Mavs with Dirk, and the Spurs with Duncnan. I think there is some speculation out there about who the Lakers would chose, if they have a choice next summer between Kobe or Lebron. Does anyone want to play with Ko...

I can't imagine that the Lakers are very happy with this bit of news about their aged starting point guard. Steve Nash will tryout with professional soccer team Inter Milan. Here's what he had to say about the opportunity.

Lakers News: Bynum takes a shot at Lakers fans

Bynum is one of those players that play under their potential. Even when he's playing under his potential, he's still very good. Here's the comment that he made, and I guess you can see through what he's saying.

“I just know that they’re really, really passionate and I haven...

This story has been around for a few weeks, and I talked about it, but here it is again, it's come up again. I actually agree with Brossuard on something. I think he stays in Miami, or returns to Cleveland. As for Melo, anything is possible. Maybe not t...

Expect major drama come 2014 Decision ' Part '2'

The free agent class next summer is weak, outside of James, Melo, Bosh, and Wade who are able to use their ETO to test the market. All four could very well waive that, and stick with their respective teams. The free agent class outside of those g...

Warriors looking to clear cap space for Howard

Posted by shawn cassidy on July 4, 2013 at 8:20 PM Comments comments (0)

Please don't do it GSW! In a perfect world Howard goes to Houston leaving the Lakers lost for a season. I would hate to see the Warriors break up their young core, for a clown like center that doesn't realize how good he could be if he applied himself more instead of focusing on his latest comic bit.

Should the Lakers rebuild if Howard leaves? Do they need to?

Posted by shawn cassidy on July 1, 2013 at 5:20 AM Comments comments (1)

The Lakers are stuck in a hard spot. If Howard leaves this team is old, and not in a good Spurs kind of way. They will have Kobe who's still one of the best in the world, but he will also be returning from the season ending hamstring injury. So here is a look at the Lakers payroll below. If look at this coming season. They will surely not contend. The biggest concern...
