Rondo nominated for player of the week

For the second time this season,  Rondo was nominated for the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. He lost out to future Celtic Josh Smith.

In three games since returning from suspension, Rondo has averaged 13.3 points, 12 assists, and 7.7 rebounds per game, posting a triple-double during Friday's loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, and  Rondo nearly produced another in Saturday's rematch.

Rondo will get his at some point, and maybe he'll pull of the player of the month? Let's finish the month out strong Rondo.

The Celtics recall Melo from the Red Claws

The Celtics recalled rookie center Fab Melo from the Maine Red Claws of the D-League on Monday. I didn't expect to see that today. The Celtics don't seem to need Melo at this point, so why bring him back?

Melo averaged 6.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 23.4 minutes over five games for the Red Claws.

New Power Rankings out

The  Celtics fall back a spot to No. 14 in this week's ESPN.com NBA Power Rankings. The Celtics drop one spot, and the Spurs still hold the top spot. Click here for full power rankings.
