Celtics Beat Post New Entry

Question of the day: C's favorties in the East?

Posted by shawn cassidy on July 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM

With Green, Bradley and Wilcox all returning, and the additions of Courtney Lee, Jason Terry and Jared Sullinger, are the Celtics the favorite in the Eastern Conference? I say Bradley is returning because he missed the Eastern Conference Finals.  I don't think their the favorites in the East, but who cares. The media has been picking the Heat for the past two seasons. Year one didn't work out for the Heat. And last year the same almost happened. I  feel strongly that the Celtics would have taken out the Heat with a healthy  roster that would of had Green, Bradley, and Wilcox.Plus a healthy Pierce.

I believe Rondo has more weapons, and he will be a year better. But if you look at the Heat, they've gotten better as well. They added Ray Allen, and Rashard Lewis. It's hard to say which players will impact their teams, and which players will get their teams over the hump. But I like the Celtics chances this year. I don't think will see Pierce, or KG off too much from last seasons play, only Pierce will get better, because he was dealing with MCL during the playoffs. So what do you think. Are the Celtics the favorites?

I'm really happy with our team!!
As Paul said, Ainge painted a masterpiece this summer.
We may not be the favorites, but we have a lot of possibility, I think.
I'm really confident in our team

On paper, we are definitely contenders. Until proven otherwise, the Heat have to be the favorites. The proof, either way, could be as early as Oct. 30. The whole season schedule of course is not out yet, but I would guess that it will be Boston/ Miami again on Xmas day. If the Celts were to lose those first two games against the Heat, I would bet the playoff roster will look different than the opening day roster. But I sure like our chances.

We won't start the season as favorites, but we will end the season as favorites.

The Heat obviously are the favorites. They are the world champs and have LBJ on their side. That said, we are right there just barely behind them, breathing heavily on their neck. And yes... Miami is frightened.

Don't worry, Lebron. Ray Allen will protect you from Rondo...

Heh, Ray's got his own self to worry about. Better double check those ankles in case Rondo decides to break 'em.

Rondo may test his handle too...
