"IN RONDO WE TRUST"

Celtics Beat Post New Entry

Recap: C's pounded 107-75 in Philly

Posted by shawn cassidy on October 15, 2012 at 10:20 PM

The Celtics turned the ball over 14 times in the first half and those turnovers were enough to allow the 76ers to build a 14-point lead 56-42 lead at halftime, and that's the game for the most part. The Celtics ended the game with 20 turnovers.  The Celtics didn't play KG, and the level of intensity  that the Celtics should've had was gone at the starting tip. Rondo finally missed some free throws. Pierce had 16 points in 21 minutes, and he looked his best so far in the preseason, and the same goes for Bass scoring 11 points off of 5-of-9 shooting.

Sullinger was solid with 9 points, and 5 rebounds in 23 minutes. Terry was about passing the ball tonight with 5 assists, and just 3 points on the night. The Celtics lost the glass 48-42, and it was disgusting at times watching the Celtics rebounding.

Milicic, who has had his right wrist taped since tweaking it last week in a practice session, appeared to aggravate the injury falling to the floor early in the third quarter. Darko only played 16 minutes, and he grabbed just 3 rebounds, but he scored a solid 6 points.

It was a very ugly game, and this can't be the finished product, and I won't worry about the Celtics after being blown out. Doc keeps putting out different lineups, and it messes with the chemistry. But in a week  Doc should have his team set.

I think we all knew that the offense was built around Ray Allen, for better or for worse. I'm a little shocked that Doc and Rondo don't seem to have developed much of an idea of how to build the offense without Ray. And then there is the pick and roll. Sullinger will surely get better.

You had to know that we would struggle some. So many new players, so many young players. But right now, we kinda look like a lousy team, and some of what the boobirds said is starting to look true - that Rondo was overrated, and would be exposed once the Big Three began to go away.
