It was a statement. It was a moment that capped off Rondo's amazing growth in the 2009 playoffs. With Garnett out that year. Rondo took control of the situation. He became more of a triple double machine, and we know things would have turned out differently in 2009 if KG played. Especially because Rondo was a different player from the 2008 team. But  unfortunately it's another year of what if.

I'm pretty sure we'll see some of that this year. I think we'll see it in game one vs. the Heat.

The thing is, when Rondo has stepped up big time in the past, it's been when someone else is hurt. Now he's got to step up like that when others are healthy. He's going to have to establish himself, and Pierce has to get with the program.
