The talkin' box score: Boston Celtics - Los Angeles Clippers 105-111

Record: 13-23

That’s the Celtics team I know. We didn’t get away with a win, I know, but as a fan, you can’t be mad about this kind of loss. You look at the box score, and you can see that the effort is there. You don’t even have to compare the numbers with those of the past couple games. Just look at the rebound and the points in the paint: last time we faced them, they really made us pay for our lack of size, last night we outrebounded them, and literally killed them in the paint, scoring almost twice their points. We shot the ball a lot better than last night, and while their three-point shooting was too high, the overall shooting percentage was pretty good.

Another thing that I really like is that basically all the guys have been consistent throughout the whole game: we came out of the gate too cold, and that cost us the game, but after that, we played till the end, even going on a little run at the end. That’s what we’re able to do: we started the season as a scrappy team that fought until the very last minute, and while in the last couple of game we’ve been the shadow of ourselves, last night the scrappy team that I love was back.

It was a really good night for Green, that finished the game with 15 points and 11 rebounds. We’ve learned that with Green we have to take the good and the bad, because it seems there’s no way to turn things around, and last night it was a good night. What I like most are the team-high 11 rebounds. That’s what let you understand that the effort was there last night for him. Our forwards had a tough matchup last night, but he held his own, even playing the last quarter in foul trouble.

Bass had a similar game finishing with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Those are not great numbers, but they’re the kind of numbers that Bass post in the games where he does that, and all the little intangibles things that help the team. And if that’s the case, I’m really glad he did that. I said yesterday that we needed our guys to play for the team, so I hope Bass did just that last night.

Sully finally had his time off, and he showed once again that he needed it, and Humphries got the nod for the starting spot. He fouled out in the last quarter, but overall he had a solid game. He scored just six points, but shooting the ball well; he grabbed 8 boards and dished out 4 assist.

Foul trouble has been a problem for our big last night, with Griffin attempting 17 free throws, 8 of which in the last quarter. Luckily, the other guys weren’t so hard to check.

For the second time in a row, our guard switched role, and last night they’ve been really effective, scoring 24 points apiece. Crawford still dished out eight assists (but with five turnover!!), while Bradley was the better shooter. What I really appreciated in Jordan’s game are the 11 free throw attempts. His shooting percentage wasn’t exactly great, but he still played aggressive and didn’t give up. Crawford was struggling a lot as of lately and I think Stevens did a good thing trying to mix everything up a bit, but this reminded me once again that our point guard, the true point guard, is out. I’m tired to see all those shooting guard running the point. Don’t get me wrong, I really appreciate what Crawford is doing for the team, but I almost can’t wait it anymore!!

After a tough start last night, Bayless had a solid game last night, finishing with 11 points and 5 assists off the bench. He was 3for9 overall from the field, but he shot 50% behind the three point line.

Still two games on the road before going back home.

Let’s keep playing like last night guys, the results will come.

The Celtics can play the Warriors and Blazers well, I believe. Sully needs to get out of his head on these fouls.

when teh effort is there one feels pretty good about it. Honestly, thogh, a let down was inevitable after the tank trade. hopefully it's over.
