The starting unit took the afternoon off, they scored just 35 points. The bench on the other hand scored 56 points behind Olynky's career high 21 points. Hump was big with 18 points and 10 rebounds as well. The Celtics let this one get away, they held a 18 point lead in the first half, and another double-digit lead in the 4th quarter. The Celtics had a two chances to win in the final seconds, but Jordan Crawfords fadeaway jumper with time expiring was a bit to hard, and the Celtics dropped their final game of 2013, 92-91.
The Celtics should have won this game, they needed one of their starters to pick it up. Jeff Green had 8 points and Sulfly had 2 points both were needed. The Celtics needed this one of Atlanta for draft reasons. The Hawks are 2-1 I believe since losing Horford for the season. The Celtics did a fine job on the glass with 47, but the Hawks still beat the C's with 51. The Celtics had some defensive bright spots, holding the Hawks to 36% from the field and 17% from three-point land. Paul Millsap scored a game-high 34 points on 12-of-19 shooting for the
Hawks, while Jeff Teague added 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. The Celtics couldn't stop the two best players on the Hawks Tuesday afternoon.
