What are Celtic fans thinking: The Rondo trade

Posted by shawn cassidy on December 19, 2013 at 2:55 AM

We already know that Bob Ryan, and Gary Tanguay are all in for a Rondo trade. How about the fans? In this edition of "What are Celtic fans thinking", I'll give some of the best and worst answers from Celtic fans across the blogs.

This fan posted this lovely response to Tanguay over at CSNNE.

"Trade Tanguay to Sacramento for a case of Gatorade and a few jock straps..."

Who wouldn't make that move? I lose a lot of respect for the guys who run that station. They keep these guys employed because they say crap for viewers. Look, I'm using their garbage to get my point across. It's one big vicious circle.

This comment is from CelticsLife.

"Tanguay is a troll of the highest order. He says this stuff just to anger people and it works every time. If he was on the Celtics broadcast team for much longer I think Tommy would have knocked him out. Speaking of which, Gary may want to stay away from Tommy at the CSNNE Christmas party..."

It does work every time, it's because he has a job on a network that should have more then lets trade Rondo guys. Everyone on that network seems pro trade Rondo. If they can get some smart folks on the network, then perhaps blogs won't post on their garbage.

I love this comment over at Celticsblog.

if you hate Rondo...

…. you are a jerk by definition

Another solid response from a fan about the Rondo rumor at Celticsblog.

"It’s funny how the media says the Celtics can’t build around Rondo, but as soon as the trade season opens he’s perfect fit for every other team"

I feel like most fans have warmed up to Rondo, it seems like the media has become more of the force behind Rondo hate. It was once split, now the meida looks like a bunch of chumps.

This is EXACTLY what I'm always wondering when the trade Rondo train gets a-movin! How is the irony of this sentiment not lost on the talking heads? I said it last season, and I'll say it again. This man had to have pissed in someone's Cheerios, or broke somebody's daughter's heart, because anything else just defies normal human logic. Rondo may have a polarizing personality, but there is certainly nothing polarizing about his game. The dude is a legit baller...period! Hell, if he'd played all of last season I'm pretty sure he would have shut everybody up about his suspect jumper, which was becoming alarmingly consistent before he got injured.
