Boston started out the game strong with an early first quarter lead. They trailed Miami 31-25 at the end of one, and they were down by 10 in the first quarter. In the second the Celtics tied the game at 33 with 10 minutes togo in the 2nd. I wasn't thrilled with some of the fouls that were called in the first half. The Celtics took a two point lead behind a pair of Humphries free throws. Speaking of Humphries, he had a solid first half with 7points and 3 boards.
The second quarter was a back and forth match, but James was on the bench for the first 5 minutes of the second quarter. Lee went on a mini 6-0 to help give the Celtics a 46-42 lead with 5:52 to go in the second. Beasley returned the favor by schooling Olynyk on the next two plays to tied the game 46-46 Brad Stevens made a calculated move by taking out Olynyk, and insterting Hump back into the game. Beasley would score the next 8 points for Miami. Pressey was solid in the second quarter with a pair of Rondo like floaters. He helped the Celtics survive the Heat's runs to keep the game close. The Celtics took a 60-59 off of Crawfords buzzer beating three.
C's also had 30 points off the bench in the first half. Showing how balanced this team is.
The Celtics jumped out early on the Heat in the third, but the Heat would take a three-point lead with 5:43 to go in the quarter. The Celtics got a little sloppy. The Celtics hung around, the Celtics went into the 4th down 82-80. The Celtics were the old looking gritty team of years past. The Celtics were down 110-108 with .6 seconds to go, but Green hit an amazing 3 at the buzzer to give the C's the win.
Green finished with a team high 24 points with 5 three pointers. I'll have more thoughts on this game tonight, and tomorrow. Just wow!
