Rondo still doesn’t have a date yet for his return. He continues to see signs every day that he is inching closer, and closer to game action, but he's not there yet mentally, and not quite 100% physically.

“I’m feeling great,” Rondo said, as his black backpack hung over his shoulders. “Working out every day. I’m able to more as far as compound workouts versus me just doing one workout a day. So I’m doing more on my leg and I’m able to handle it. I’m getting better. It’s getting stronger each day.”

Rondo surprised the media with a seven minute interview after the Nets game Wednesday night. He sounds optimistic as ever, and on the eve of the 2013-14 season. Rondo's absence will continue to hurt the C's,but knowing his return in December is still on track, it's a great sign for all of us. Rondo's impact is clearly felt and seen with this current group of Celtics. Even if it hasn't been on the corurt yet.

"I’ll be returning in the 2013-2014 season."Rondo playfully pegged his leg at 87 percent ("depending on how my day goes") and said his body will tell him when he's ready to return.

"I’ll know when it’s right," said Rondo. "Everybody is different, each injury is different... For me, when I come back, I won’t come back unless I know I’m myself again."

He won't come back at anything less than 100 percent.

"It’s going to be hard to tell me to ease into something," said Rondo. "Once I get back out there, I want to go full speed. I don’t want any limitations. That’s when I’ll return, when I’m able to do that."

Asked about his relationship with new coach Brad Stevens, Rondo joked about his growing reading assignments.

"Our relationship is fine, we talk everyday. He sends me texts all the time," said Rondo. "He’s given me a second book now to read. I haven’t read this much since college."

Nice to see him out there, and I hope he's back soon.

Rondo will be back December. It seems that way. He'll still be an all-star maybe? And he can turn this thing around when he comes back,or I hope so.
