Rondo speaks about KG,Pierce, and demanding more from his new team

There are no problems that we can't resolve as brothers. In living by the truth we are becoming free. Is there anything to hide between brothers? Rondo spoke  about "brotherhood". I don't understand the fact that many believe that Rondo should have ill thoughts about his former teammates. This was nothing like the Ray Allen back stab. It's been well documented in the past that Kevin and Rajon have been close. Paul Pierce and Rondo never had any reported issues.

Just because Ray and Rondo didn't have a picture perfect relationship. That doesn't mean much to me. You are not going to like everyone, and I can say the same for myself in my personal life. Do I like everyone I work with? No, but I respect them, and that's how is should be.

Brothers are family, and brothers are friends.Brothers also stick together through some rough times, it's all so simple. Why can't it be simple? Why can't Rondo been taken serious with his genuine responses? This sounds real to me.

Q: How curious are you to see how your game translates to a team with no Big Three around?

RR: "Whatever coach (Brad Stevens) asks of me, that's what I try to do. If he wants me to shoot the ball more, I'll shoot it. But at the end of the day, my natural instincts are to make my teammates better. Regardless of who is out on the floor, I believe I do make everybody out there better. I'm going to push them as hard as I can. I'm going to demand a lot out of them. I wouldn't demand anything that I wouldn't demand of myself. So I'm excited to play with a new group of guys."

Q: When you said you felt nothing when the trade went down ...

RR: "That was blown out of proportion."

Q: So what was the story behind it?

RR: "I don't really say much and speak out on exactly what happened. I talk to Kevin all the time. I talk to P. Obviously it was different when the trade went down. I didn't expect it to happen. I had just gotten off the plane. It happens, and that's the business. I'm not going to say it was, 'forget about it'. We still talk about them in the locker room today, tell stories about how KG was, things Paul did. At the end of the day, I still talk to every one of those guys. I talk to Jet, I talk to P, I talked to Kevin yesterday. We still check on each other. It's a brotherhood. It's something that you can't break. We won titles together. We been through the fire together. It's just something for life."

Rondo sounds like a man who wants to lead this team, and who can lead this team. His understanding is uncanny, he's seen everything in his career, and now it's time to see something new,him as the leader. Rondo's the leader, and it's up to him, and his safety net is gone. KG and Pierce are no longer here for him to fall back on, and I think he doesn't mind that, it's now his chance.

Shawn, do you know brothers who sometimes get along and sometimes don't? That, to me, is Rondo and Pierce. And I think it's silly to assert that there was no tension in the locker room last year because no one has copped to it YET. Without a doubt the Allen thing was different. But if Allen hadn't left the way he did, Rondo would be saying this brother stuff about him. It's true that when you've been on a team with someone, you feel a connection with them that is very special. I suspect that many of us can attest to that.

And no, what Rondo said before wasn't blown out of proportion. He clearly is ticked at those guys for essentially abandoning him, Doc too. And well he should be. And hopefully he'll stick it to them on the arena floor. Doesn't mean he hates them. In fact, I think he continues to love KG.

If we are going to become just another site that takes the crap people say at face value, I do not need to be writing here anymore. I see that you have other sites Shawn where you are building yourself a presence. That's fine with me. More power to you. I'm just not at all interested in the pap those sites put out. And I'm not interested in replicating it here.

I'll add that we have been right about a lot of things, and that others are coming around to our point of view on many things. For example, we've been saying for a long time that Rondo probably would not be able to come into his own while the Big Three and Doc were around. We didn't wait for Danny to start hinting at that, like the other blogs did. We also said that Doc was insincere a long time ago, and now others are finally seeing it, now that he's feeding a different line of bull to a different set of 'journos' on another team. And so on.

I've never said that Rondo was sworn enemies with Pierce, or with anyone else, even Allen. It was Allen who made the final split happen, not Rondo. But I think that there is no question that the tension between Rondo and some of his teammates, particularly Pierce, has been thick at times. If you want to understand people, you don't just listen to what they say. You read between the lines, you listen for tone of voice, you think about context, you look at behavior, etc., etc.. You don't take what people say at face value unless they have great credibility, and really, not even then.

@Paul, I assure that this site isn't going to change, this is my priority. This post didnt dive into the inner workings of their realtionship. But I wanted to take Rondo at face value for what he said. He seemed genuine about this. I know that Pierce, and Rondo didnt have a perfect realtionship. I even said that it doesnt work that way. Rondo showed that hes a great professional with this interview. I agree with you with what you have to say. I just didnt detail it with this post.
