Well the Celtics hung around for the first quarter and the beginning of the second. After that the Knicks three-point shooting carried the Knicks to a 108-89 victory taken the season series 3-1 against the Celtics. The Knicks shot 48.6 percent overall and 51.9 percent beyond the 3-point arc, putting six players in double figures. The Knicks shot an amazing 68.8 percent from 3-point land in the first half, connecting on 11 of 16 three-point bombs. They made 14 three's for the game.

Chris Copeland (22 points) and Raymond Felton (18 points) keyed New York's 3-point barrage, each canning a trio of triples, while Carmelo Anthony added 24 points on 9-of-19 shooting to go along with 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. If the Knicks beating the Celtics today wasn't enough. Pierce subbed out with 65 seconds to play in the third quarter and spent the entire fourth quarter icing what the team termed a "sore" right ankle on the bench. Paul seemed okay to me, but it's all apart the long drawn out season.

Jeff Green scored a team-high 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting, while Paul Pierce filled up his stat line with 24 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists, but were the only two Celtics to really show up on this night. Jeff seems to be back, but the Celtics defense has been lost without KG. Bradley's slump continued in New York with 2 points in 24 minutes.

The Stats

  • Knicks edge out Celtics 41-37 in rebounding.
  • The Knicks had zero fast break points.
  • The Celtics had 38 points in the paint, and the Knicks just 22.
  • The Celtics bench had a decent 32 points, but the Knicks had 50 points off the bench.

Damn three's, without half of those, the Celtics would have won.

Yeah, it's tough to get killed by threes. Miami has lots of three shooters, though.
