Celtics put on their hard hats

“It’s typical,” said Bryant. “Typical Celtics basketball. You know, they all just put their hard hats on and they go out and they play hard and they figure things out. It seems like whenever their backs are against the wall, you know, that’s when you really see the best from them.”
With no consideration, no pity, no shame, they have built walls around the Celtics, thick and high. When I say walls. It's the fake basketball gods playing some kind of cruel trick against them. We could sit here feeling hopeless. I can't think of anything else, this fate gnaws my mind. When they were building the walls, how could I not have noticed? The Celtics love to tear down the walls that close them in. The Celtics have their backs up against that metaphoric wall.
“Yeah,” said Kobe, “but then all of a sudden their backs are against the wall and then they perform and step up and play well, just like they did last year when they made that playoff run. That’s just what this team does. They kind of rope-a-dope you a little bit.
“You just figure things out. You just have guys step up and perform. You just have added responsibility, and you go from there.”
Without guys like Green, Lee, and Bradley the Celtics would have dropped the last six. Those three guys have followed KG, and Pierce in the ring of fire of the NBA.
“No, I mean, honestly, that’s what they do,” he said. “We’ve seen them in the (final) series twice, and they’re just a tough group. They’re a tough group.
“You know, whether or not they can sustain it for the remainder of the season going into the playoffs obviously remains to be seen. Rajon is a really, really special player, and so you’re missing a lot, particularly in the postseason. But if anybody can figure it out, this group can.”
That's the million dollar question. Is this winning steak just a high swing of emotion that followed the loss of Rondo. Will they come down from that high of backs against the wall syndrome?

I think this winning streak is a combination of weak opponents along with everyone banding together. The only legit win was against miami. I'm still skeptical of this whole "celtics are better without rondo" nonsense.
Well, I think that they are clearly better without Rondo, but I disagree with a lot of people as to why. I think a huge gap developed between Rondo and the team, and while some of it was Rondo's fault, I think some of the fault goes to others, but that never gets mentioned, because Rondo became the odd man out. It's all so fricking junior high, I swear.
