Rumor: Clippers want KG

The Los Angeles Clippers are interested in acquiring Kevin Garnett from the Boston Celtics, the Sporting News reported Sunday, citing anonymous sources.

Officials from both teams talked about a deal before the Celtics beat the Clippers 106-104 on Sunday, according to the Sporting News, which also said a potential deal would involve the Clippers' Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler.


This trade makes no sense to me. Why would the Celtics go even smaller with the linuep, and Bledsoe is good, but for me the young doesn't make me want to jump into a trade. This must be a trade the Clippers want, and the Celtics are in the middle of this one. This deal doesn't help the Celtics to rebuild. This doesn't sound like a move that Ainge would pull off.

It's hard to know what Ainge is thinking, but if he's even considering Bledsoe for a moment, it suggests that he's thinking about giving up on Rondo.

This just seems like the Clippers want KG. I'm sure DA would be interested in one of their bigs but the Clips won't give them up. The Clippers probably figure since Rondo is injured the Celts will need a PG sooner or later. AB and Lee are too vulnerable against the press.
