James through the years seemed rattled at every turn by the hundreds of critics. Only ESPN remained in his corner through such a trying time for James, from 2009 to his title win in 2012. James got the giant gorilla off his back. And the Heat look to build a dynasty. Here's my answer to this years critics. The Celtics came within 12 minutes of beating James, and the Heat. What have the Heat done to get better? Well they added an aged Allen with ankle issues to this day, and they added Rashard Lewis who's nowhere near the 2009 Lewis.
What have the Celtics done? Well they got Jeff Green back, and that seems like enough right there. The Celtics have replaced Allen with Terry who's far and away better at this point in their careers, and Terry has proved that so far through the preseason. Also the Celtics have added Lee who can score, and defend. Plus Bradley didn't play last year in the East Finals. Add him in the mix, and the Celtics are still deeper. What's that? I'm not done yet. The Celtics also have Barbosa, and their gang of bigs. Sulliner trumps all of the Heats bigs. The Celtics shouldn't be favored against the Heat, but at the same time. The Celtics on paper are better. So what's coach Pop say about James?
"He's so good already," Popovich said. "We all know what his skills are. He's a great passer, he can rebound, he can defend. But I think, if anything, he is maturing mentally in the sense that he is enjoying playing the game. He doesn't listen to talking heads (media critics) anymore -- or a lot less than when he first came in the league."
"I appreciate that," James said as he left AmericanAirlines Arena. "Pop knows what he's talking about. That's why he's one of the best to ever coach this game."
I hate sounding like a homer, but the Celtics are the deepest team in the league, and despite their losses in the preseason. The Celtics will start the season with guns blazing. I agree James has gotten over the mental hump, but his team much like the Lakers. Lacks depth. The Celtics have depth over both teams, and the star power may tip over to both the Lakers, and Heat. The Celtics still have the best point in the league, and KG, and Pierce still hold their own against the leagues best. Both guys are still All-Star guys.
I think will see a Thunder vs Celtics NBA Finals this season. I think will see the two favorites lose in their conference finals. Do I think the Celtics win the finals?
