Paul Pierce record breaker: Part 1

Posted by shawn cassidy on July 19, 2012 at 10:00 AM

Pierce is 245 games from John Havlicek's Celtics record of 1270 games played. How many seasons would it take Paul to pass Hondo? It would take Pierce three seasons. Which I see him doing that, but he also needs to stay away from injury. Pierce will be either walking away in 2015, or passing Hondo's record.

I think Paul passes John Havlicek's 1270 games played as a Celtic. Both Pierce, and Halicek, will always have a link of some kind. Both play small forward , and they have similar games, and of course they both embody Celtic pride. What about Hondo's field goals made record?

Pierce as of today ranks 4th on the list, he should pass up Parish withing the first 20 games. Bird is in second, and he's over 1,100 over Pierce. Paul has been averaging about 500 made field goals, with Ray gone, I believe Paul will get more touches.  Pierce is 3107 from Havlicek, so how many seasons what it take Pierce to pass him? If you average Paul at 500 made per season. It would take Pierce another 6 seasons in the NBA. Not happening. Pierce would be 40 by than.Pierce won't get a chance to break every record, but putting his  stamp on things, is big.

Ainge needs to renegotiate with Pierce. More years, less money.
