Cavs in trade talks to help Nets land Howard

Posted by shawn cassidy on July 9, 2012 at 1:15 AM

We may have a new Big three in the NBA. The Cavs may help the Nets put together a team that may put some scare into Lebron James, and the Heat. Not surprised the Cavs are the team helping that happen. Will the Nets become contenders? In the East, they would for sure. Not thrilled, but either way. Dwight to the Lakers would be much worse.

The Brooklyn Nets' persistent efforts to recruit the Cleveland Cavaliers as a third team to help them hammer home a trade for Dwight Howard are starting to pay off, according to sources close to the process.

Sources told ESPN.com that the Nets and Magic are cautiously optimistic that the Cavaliers will help them facilitate a three-way trade that lands Howard in Brooklyn.

Free agent Kris Humphries would be one of the key pieces headed to Cleveland in the proposed deal.

The Cavaliers, however, have enough cap space to sign Humphries outright, so they have requested additional assets from their two prospective trade partners.

Hope this ends soon, I agree not to the Lakers. I think Orlando also feels like Bynum wouldn't want to stay. So their looking at other assests.

Why not cut the league down to four or five teams at this point?

And how is it that so many teams seem to be able to pay three 20 million dollar players, but the Celtics can't manage a few million here and there for someone?

Hey Paul, the league is still messed up. I think the league didn't fix anything with the lockout. Its BS for sure.
