This is pretty much the game I had on my mind last time when we played the Bucks. They snapped their losing streak against us and I expected out team to seek revenge. And the guys answered big time. Every one of the starters had a really good game, and all of them finished in double figure with scoring, together with Lee coming off the bench, and they also rebounded the ball pretty well. We grabbed more rebounds than the Bucks and we were able to keep our turnovers down.
Green continued his streak of solid games with yet another very good performance. He’s doing that a lot lately and I’m really happy about that. He plays hard, he rebounds, he score, he plays for the team getting assist. What I like most are his 10 points in the second quarter, when some guys were having a pretty hard time shooting the ball, he kept us in the game together with Bass.
Bass had a beautiful night, finishing with 16 points and a team high 9 rebounds, and in the third quarter he scored 9 points grabbing 5 boards. And Stevens really appreciated the effort because he played the entire third quarter. Brandon shot the ball pretty well, but was also very aggressive, getting to the line a lot and making his free throws.
This is exactly what I was asking from the two of them since the beginning of the year. Maybe I’ve been a little too hard on them. There has been a big revolution during the summer and to be honest, you can’t expect those two to play great since the beginning just because they were already here last year. I was wrong. Everything around them was new, they probably just needed their time. My bad!!
Bradley had a big turnaround compared to his last game. He shot 50% even from the three point line, rebounded the ball and didn’t turn it over once. And he deserve a special mention just for that crazy over the backboard shot. And not just because the shot itself is basically unbelievable, but because of its meaning: Bradley didn’t give up on the play, and fought to be in the right place at the right moments, and he sure was. I love this. This is what we are. And he summed it up perfectly with that play.
There are not a lot of things to say about Crawford that I haven’t said before. Once again, he came up big in every aspect of the game and he exploded in the fourth quarter, scoring 15 points on 100% shooting percentage: 3for3 from the three point line, a couple of free throws and two buckets. It’s really nice to see this guy getting better and better, and I’m sure that he’ll play a big role for us this year. Honestly, I didn’t envision him being so good for us before the preseason, I really hope the Celtics will be able to keep him.
Courtney Lee, who came back after missing some games, sparked us from the bench scoring 11 points, seven of whom were in the fourth quarter, while Wallace and Humphries played a solid game.
I love the effort. Our team is starting to shape himself. We are a tough bunch of guys that play scrappy basketball, with solid defense and good offense. And we play as a team. And we don’t have to forget this, ever.
