The Celtics started out slow tonight. They were down by as many as 13 in the first quarter, but the Celtics ended the first on a run to cut the lead to 26-23. Brad Stevens put in the rookie point guard in the second quarter, and the Celtics went on a massive run, and they ended the half with a 50-34 lead. They also played their best quarter of the season in the second quarter. They held the Jazz to just 8 points in the frame. The Celtics took care of business in the third quarter, and they held a lead of 20-25 for most of the third.
As the 4th quarter started the Jazz would go on a run 15-3 run, and they cut the lead down to 6 late in the 4th, but the Celtics wouldn't give in after a sloppy 4th quarter. Bass was the hero tonight, he scored 9 of his 20 points in the 4th quarter, and he provided the offense when the Celtics needed it most. The Celtics would hold onto this one 97-87 earning them their first win of the year, and it's Brad Stevens first win as a NBA coach.
Jeff Geen was solid with 18 points, but he scored zero once again in the 4th. The Celtics rebounded the ball well 42-41, and they took care of the basketball with just 14 turnovers. Gerald Wallace provided a spark off the bench. He hit a couple of three's, and he ended with 9 points under his new role. Kelly Olynyk, and Sully were also big with 14 points for Kelly, and 12 for Sully. The Celtics will head to Florida to face the Magic and Heat this weekend.
