ESPN has Rondo as one of their 10 most likely to be traded

A lot of people assume that the Celtics will trade Rondo. The main reason? I think they believe that Rondo is incapable of leading a team. Nobody believes Ainge, and that's apart of the persona of it all. Until the Celtics start winning under Rondo, he'll remain in trade talks. I just hope that Ainge keeps an open dialogue with Rondo about the rumors that lay ahead.

Hupu.com  has the ESPN Insider article

Rajon Rondo, PG, Boston Celtics

"We're not looking to trade Rondo," president of basketball operations Danny Ainge told Bill Simmons on the BS Report last week. "We think Rondo's a big part of our future." Of course, Ainge also admitted the Celtics were close to trading Rondo to the New Orleans Hornets for Chris Paul, so we know he's not afraid to make a move if he feels like it will bring back an elite piece. As a result, and with Boston now in rebuilding mode, expect to hear plenty of rumors once Rondo returns from surgery to repair the ACL he partially ruptured last January.

Ainge is not to be trusted. That alone makes it near certain that Rondo will be traded. The more Ainge declares that Rondo is a "special player" the more it sounds like he'll be on the Express as soon as he shows he has recovered. I hope I'm wrong as I think Rondo will make his mark as one of the best Celtics ever, given a real chance. But it's up to Rondo too. No more fakery on defense, Rondo.

I'm not passing any premature judgement. Ainge will do what is best for the franchise, I trust him in that regard.

The express should have a few passengers, with Rondo not being on that express. Call it a hunch, but Dan the trade machine man will hold off on Rondo.
