What did we really expect? The Celtics season ended on one Sunday afternoon in January. The Celtics can't score the ball, and the loss of Rondo and his greatness shouldn't go unnoticed (more on that later). All you need to know about this game is that Celtics like I said can't score with this group of guys. They have guys who can score, but so many of our guys are streaky. The evidence? Pierce was 6-of-15 for 17 points. KG was 5-of-13 for 12 points.
The Celtics have problems everywhere, and some of the issues that have plagued the Celtics for years were more out there without Rondo. The Celtics have struggled in past years with scoring the ball, and the loss of Rondo shows that the Celtics cannot score. The Celtics have also gotten very small. No Wilcox, or Randolph tonight, and for most of the series. Could those two bigs help? Probably not, but at least try. Despite the size issue the Celtics out rebounded the Knicks 41-37 behind KG's 17 rebounds. I'll have more on this season, series, game in the coming hours, and in the morning.
