Here we have a season that has many of us restless and confused. We keep accumulating miss guided accolades to compensate for a missing happiness. Love him, or hate him. Rondo is that missing happiness that some of us feel that is gone. Sometimes our life is a carefully managed parade, all dressed up in phony overconfidence. I was there at one point when the Celtics were faced the challenge to win without Rondo. The brain wants more and more and more as the brain feels failure. The recent skid started off with a heartbreaking two point loss by the hands of the most hated man in the NBA Lebron James. Yes the Celtics were without KG, and I think that game came down to turnovers.
Just being able to struggle to get to the top is making letdowns. Reality is hard. All of us expected banner 18 this season, and the team rallied soon after Rondo went down. Maybe it was just human nature. Their backs against the wall. Now we have a team on the ropes again. They had a chance to creep up the seeding, and that chance died on this road trip, or even when James nailed the game winner. The brain puts the body buried deep in emotional holes. The brain is in charge of the mind but the question is who is in charge of the brain? All of us have an opinion, and that's what makes all of us unique. But I also think some people may steal others opinions, and they go with the hottest and latest thing. I think a lot of us are at fault for banking Bradley as the guy who will rise up, and take the Celtics to the promise land. He's garnished that title by many. It's safe to say that he's not ready to run an offense alone. He's a good complimentary player with Rondo. They are the future, and you know Danny understands that.
During most losing streaks like this. Before Rondo's injury. He usually had the finger point towards him. Rondo this season never got going for a lot of reasons, and maybe the issue was that he had too many mouths to feed on the offensive end. Green was back, and Terry was new along with Lee. You had Barbosa waiting for some playing time, and Sully was finding his role with this team. This team would have found their way with Rondo much like the run after his injury. They miss Rondo, and most fans should be missing what we had.
Reaching for the sky, and grabbing dreams. The Celtics were chasing down fears with life without Rondo. Trying to understand. Why one must fear. Overcoming obstacles is built into this team, and it always has been. Achieving adversity is who they are, but right now they seem like a team coming down from a high of adrenaline. With this team we believe they stand and fight when things get tough. Never under estimate this team. I believe in that, but reality, and being rational is something that we must consider. Especially with a team in Miami who may have some extra help some nights, and they also have a duo that can beat you almost every night. Are the Celtics that good?
With Rondo I would say yes, but without him I don't see the Celtics derailing that train. I think this team will go down in the blaze of glory with a lot of fight. I think that's the best way to end the season. With Celtic pride in mind. If we lose a close contested series without Rondo. That's all we can ask for. Nobody will be surprised about that. But this team will be applauded for a fight that will most likely happen. The struggle to overcome the difference between the impossible and the possible. It plays tricks on the mind, because I have hope in this team, but I also have reality bashing me in the head with a hammer. I don't know what's worse.
