The Celtics are the only team in NBA history to stop a 22 game winning streak. The year was 2008, and the Celtics were on the infamous Texas Triangle. They won all three games on that tour of Texas, and the one game that sticks out of the most is the Houston game. The Rockets were playing out of this world. They had the luxury of being on their home court against the Celtics. The Rockets hung around in the first, but in the third quarter the Celtics out scored the Rockets 32-16.
The Celtics are the only team in NBA to stop a 22 game winning streak.. I said that twice now, and when it comes to doing things twice. The Celtics find themselves in odd company. Not only are the Heat setting records. The Celtics can pull off something that won't happen every again, or at least the odds are against it happening twice. The Celtics can halt a second 22 game winning streak twice, and exactly five years to the day that they stopped the Rockets. The Celtics beat the Rockets on March 18th, 2008, and Monday's game is on March 18th, 2013. Weird stuff in my book. The Celtics find themselves in the right place at the right time.
The Rockets lost Yao Ming in the middle of their winning streak, and they had a few role players assisting a "Star" at the time Tracy Mcgrady. The Heat are the 2013 champions, and they have the best player in the world. The Celtics have some major question marks heading into Monday's game. Will Kevin Garnett play? Can they stop the train with defense alone? This game could be a confidence booster again for the Celtics if they can beat the best team in the NBA. The road goes through Miami, and the Celtics can get an idea of who they are in Round two against the Heat without Rondo.
