Pierce has become the point-forward without Rondo. Paul didn't have a triple-double Wednesday, but his 4 assists were powerful enough to remember. Even though Pierce controlled the offense for the Celts. Paul's defense was the talk of the night.
"It was pretty cool because guys don't come back sometimes because they're busy," Robinson said. "For him to be Paul Pierce and play with us, it was cool. He was just relaxed about everything, like no worries at all."
Once on the court, though, Pierce's demeanor changed.
"[He played] like he was in the playoffs," Robinson said. "I expect the same thing (in the Celtics - Kings game), only I'm sure it'll be ten times more."
"I want to look at is as just another game," he said. "But just to say I played here and I made it to be on the floor that I always watched growing up [is cool]."
Pierce is one of the most underrated players of his generation. He's out lasted the likes of T-Mac, and Vince Carter in his era. With Pierce being 35 one would think that his game is gone. Even though Pierce has struggled on offense recently. He still has the moves, and he still has the defensive effort. For the Celtics to have any outside chance of doing anything in the playoffs. Pierce, along with KG need to help the others rise up without Rondo. So far so good.
