Celtics Title Town

The Knicks are coming out this season on fire, and the 5-0 start is a bit shocking. At least to me. They've been without Amare the entire season. And that hasn't effected the Knicks, and I wonder if it will hurt them when he does return. We've seen this storyline before in New York. Does Lin from last season ring a bell. The Knicks were rolling when Melo, and Amare were injured, and when they returned the Knicks started to lose. Same thing happened when Amare was out, and Melo was in. The Knicks seem to play better without Amare.

Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points, J.R. Smith and Raymond Felton each added 21, and the New York Knicks held off the Orlando Magic 99-89 on Tuesday night to improve to 5-0. Their best start since 93-94, and they made it to the Finals that year.

"Defense, we buckled down," Anthony said. "We kind of slowed them down, kept them off the glass rebounding. Once we had a chance to rebound the basketball, get out and make some shots, we didn't turn back from there."

Mike Woodson is a defensive coach, and I can't believe Melo has been pretty good on offense. Right now the Knicks have a huge point differential, and their the second best scoring team in the league with 104.5 a game, and they allow the fewest points per game of 87. The Knicks have solid wins. They beat Miami for their first win, and they beat the Mavs who have played well this season. They beat the 76ers twice, and tonight the Magic. I don't know if the Knicks continue this crazy pace, but I think they won't. But I do believe this is the best team that New York has seen in a long time.
