After every game we scan the Celtic sites for fan reactions.
Sully will fit into the undersized rebounder role quite nicely (not Bass' game)...just like Baby and Po did.
Melo will not sniff Boston this year. At least he will get to eat a lot of lobster.
Darko won't see much time unless there are injuries. He has skills but, man, he can't defend.
Too early to tell on Green but he did look good.
Every year we hear how Rondo has been working on his shot, but he looked real good yesterday. Nice rhythm. Danny made some nice improvements but nothing would help this team more than Rondo becoming an 80% free throw shooter...
Darko played yesterday because Wilcox sat out, but honestly he wasn't that bad yesterday. He was what I expected. But I didn't expect Sully to have such a good game yesterday. I expect good things, but to see that already even though it's a preseason game is fine by me. But like I said in Morning Joe. You can get to high on Sully just yet. We have more games to play.
To lose by six to a good team while not playing our starters at the minutes they usually play isn't that bad their I'd still time for chemistry to build. Terry looked good rebounding was a problem last year and in this game but it'd still to early to be making assumptions in how this will be fir the regular season. Give it some time
The rebounding didn't bother me. We still beat them on the glass, but we didn't have Wilcox, and KG barley played. So the glass wasn't protected. But Sullinger had 8 rebounds, and five of those were offensive.
The C's couldn't rebound worth a lick last year and in this first preseason game they showed that they still can't. They better improve on the boards or it is going to be a long frustrating season.
I agree, they must show us more on the glass, but honestly I'm not worried just yet.
Our defense, esp. pick-and-roll coverage and backdoor protection, was downright awful. Just glad actual season isn't until three weeks from now. On a positive note, Sully, Terry and Green looked solid on offense to say the least. Our bench production's in capable hands this season, it seems.
The defense will be just fine guys. The Celtics are trying new things. Rondo was good, and bad yesterday on defense as Paul also pointed out this morning. The defense will come around.
