Pierce is a tortured sole after game six loss
|

You could see the torture in his eyes(Pierce). I know the torture was there for all of us. The Celtics went into game six saying what we wanted to hear. The stats gave us a Nostradamus type outlook. The odds were stacked for the Celtics, taking the history in the past five seasons. The game was scrappy at best, and it was boring too watch quiet honest. I never say that about a game, nor do I say that about a playoff game. It was hard to stomach watching it, and even harder too stomach losing that game. Losing games on the road is all apart of the game, and I can take that. But closeout games should have something extra, an extra gear for any team to close out. The Sixers handed us a chance to win last night. But the Celtics couldn't attack, and they really couldn't get the outside shot to fall.
Pierce on the other hand was the only Celtic that came to play. Paul Pierce scored a game-high 24 points on 5-of-11 shooting with 10 rebounds, and he was also 13 of 13 from the foul line. The free throw attempts alone show us how aggressive Paul was. During a spot in the 4th quarter, ESPN showed Pierce, and Rondo on the bench. Pierce was talking to him,and he tapped his lightly, but the message was clear for us. Pierce wanted Rondo to wake up. The Celtics didn't wake up, and now they're up against a wall, and they only have themselves to blame for it. This era of basketball comes down to one game, and if the Celtics don't come out firing Saturday. Then it was just not going to happen period this season.
This season has been a ride, and up, and down experience. Known of us are ready to see this season end, and all we can hope for is the same feeling from the Celtics come Saturday. You got to think that KG,and Rondo will be ready, along side Pierce. It's at home, and the odds are in the Celtics favor. But all I can picture right now is game seven against the Magic in 2009. Hope that is a distant memory come this weekend.

And you are right, Shawn, you can see from the way Paul keeps shifting his weight and moving back and forth that he's pretty unhappy. He's usually much more settled in interviews. So are we all unhappy. Those sharks are circling and right now we feel like chum, chum.

I can only imagine, how he was in the lockerrom, with closed doors. The Truth, really came through.
