There is quite a bit of over talking this playoffs and that is fine for other teams. Our team however is unique and steeped in history. We as Celtics fan are different and we should act that way.
I have seen other fans/commentators say things like. “Woo Hoo Celtics Vs. Spurs or insert another western powerhouse for the Finals.”
This breaks the 1st
commandment of being a Celtic fan.
#1.) True Celtics fans will not look to the next series in the playoffs.
#2.) True Celtics fans will not look over the next game, in any series.
#3.) True Celtics fans will respect the competition, while in the series.
#4.) True Celtics fans will know that when shooting poorly, these Celtics can still win with defense.
#5.) True Celtics fans will know losing one game in a playoff series, does not make the series.
#6.) True Celtics fans will not root for another team/player to be hurt so #18 is easier to achieve.
#7.) True Celtics fans will understand that this season it is all about KG and dominating.
#8.) True Celtics Fans will know Rajon is a temperamental/frustrating basketball genius and take the good with the bad. Knowing there will be a lot more good.
#9.) True Celtics Fans will get up, pace around and scream at the TV when there is an obvious boneheaded play or terrible foul called. Or is that one just me.
#10.) True Celtics fans will remember, look up and smile.
I am ready for some great memories. I am ready for KG’s birthday weekend. I look at the Indiana/Miami series and wonder who will win that bruiser. I hope for some rest for our vets and great effort and energy in the most important game of the playoffs. That’s right “the next one”. You all have a great weekend and hopefully a great game to watch tonight.
