Ray's injury a major concern?

Posted by shawn cassidy on April 3, 2012 at 9:05 AM

Ray has now missed 6 games in a row. He's tried to go many times, but it's been a bunch of no goes. When the Celtics have any injury I seem to have a radar on Danny Ainge. He hasn't said anything about Ray's injury as of late. So is that a good sign? Some reports seem to think that Ray may need to end his season, and get surgery. That would crush the title hopes for the Celtics. Even though I believe Bradley should start now. Ray is a player the Celtics need. This team needs all it's top players.

We have some good signs, and some bad signs on Ray. You, want the good or bad first? Okay let's go with the good. Ray is out on the court actually getting shots up. In past seasons when a Celtic has been out of action that doesn't happen. The bad news could be that Ray couldn't play if the playoffs started today. Some other good news could be that the Celtics haven't  said shutting him down. That's one of those quotes that mean the Celtics are wrong about an injury, and the player is out a long time.

I feel like the Celtics should sit him longer, until he's close to 100%. Why rush  Ray when the Celtics are fine without him right now? So if Ray  is lost for the season, or he can't play on a normal basis. Can the C's go far in the post season?

Big concern Shawn. Don't see us winning without him.

We can certainly win without Allen. But I'd like him to come back.

I don't see Allen being out for more than 3 more games. He just wants to be safe and make SURE he is 100% before playing a game again. Look what happened during the road trip when he fought through it. It got worse. With the playoffs right around the corner and the Celtics winning while he rests, there is no reason at all for Allen to rush.

When he does return, it should be good to note that they will more than likely try him off the bench with Bradley starting. This way it gets Allen back into the swing of things and they test how this rotation works against playoff teams. I have a feeling the end results will be very satisfying.
