After the first quarter, it looked like the Rondo/Bradley Double Badger backcourt was going to rule. The Bobcats were held to 15 points and Rondo seemed to be on his way to a triple double, and the Cs headed into the second quarter with an 18 point lead. Then the Charlotte bench proceeded to hammer the Celtics' bench, and the Cats seemed to counter Boston's fast, but short, back court with a tall backcourt that at times scored at will.
The rest of the game the Celtics lead wavered from ten or so to four or even two. But, thankfully, Pierce was able to score at will in the paint for much of the third quarter, and Garnett came alive in the fourth, and the Celtics made a living at the line and managed to pull out a win. In an unusual turn of events, the Celtics outrebounded Charlotte, 37-33, and even managed to pull down more offensive rebounds, 8-7! Also, strangely, the Celtics shot more free throws, 45-35. Even Rondo got to take 8 fts! Pierce had a monster game, with 36 points and ten rebounds, three steals and three blocks. Garnett had 25 points. Both Garnett and Pierce shot 10=20 from the floor, oddly. It was an odd game. Rondo ended up with 13 assists.
Glad to have the win.
