Pietrus, and Bass enough depth for the Celtics bench?

The Celtics have had some solid bench players in this era of Celtics basketball. In 2008 the Celtics had James Posey as the main bench stud. In 2008 the Celtics also had Eddie House who impacted the Celtics, and Leon Powe who played some major games with Posey. We also had the old veterans that were picked up mid-season, Cassell, and Brown. The 2009 bench wasn't as impactful compared to the 2008 champions. We still had good players in Tony Allen, and Eddie House. We also seen a breakout  season from Glen Davis, and Powe put up solid numbers despite an injury plagued season. After the Celtics  fell in the 2009 playoffs. The Celtics added some fresh blood into the Celtics bench. The Celtics signed their main target Rasheed Wallace, and they added Daniels, and they made some other minor moves.

Wallace impacted the team during the 2010 NBA Finals run, and at the trade deadline the Celtics added Nate Robinson who impacted the Celtics in the playoffs as well. Following the 2010 finals loss. The Celtics added a lot of depth to their bench. Shaq was going to the bench with Jermiane O'neal when Perk returned, and the Celtics added combo guard Delonte West, and it was a welcome return to Boston. Then the trade happened last season, and the bench never really formed a chemistry.Jeff Green was added to the bench, and he was supposed to add major scoring, and give us a James Posey type player. That really didn't pan out.

This season the duo of Bass, and Pietrus showed us what they can bring to this team when the Celtics beat the Raptors Wednesday. I think this duo is needed for the Celtics to compete for a title. We know the 2008 Celtics aren't coming back. Unless they know how to time travel. Bass. and Pietrus are scorers, and that's what the Celtics have needed for years. Scoring has been a major issue for years, and I have the feeling that Bass, and Pietrus will give much needed scoring here. Bass has already shown us a lot of what he can do. Pietrus is showing us each game now as well. I think  if both players go off the Celtics will win the game. Time will tell how this works out for the Celtics. But I like what I see so far. It gives me a little hope on the depth chart. We just need Wilcox, and Dooling to get healthy.

I agree! The duo is unlike any in this era. Wilcox has been a big let down. I am not surprised either. Bass has giving us a lot. I'm greedy, and want more from him, but I'm happy with his production.

I actually have a lot of confidence in our bench. I think that Bass is for real, and several of the others are solid. The bench is not my worry.

Franklin, I see Wllcox as a writeoff. Some guys when they come to you you pretty quickly see why they were on the bench or whatever (Wilcox). But with other guys, like Bass, you see that they were ready to spread their wings in a different situation. What is so telling about Bass is that he has repeatedly, I think, stated, that he has long admired the way the Cs played together and wanted to be a part of that. I think he means it.

So now it's all about ignoring Danny and thinking SYNERGY.

If Dooling would be less careless with his ball handling would be such a threat from the 3 line. With him and Allen on the outside, you better watch out.
