Avery Bradley had a forgettable first round series. He was exposed for his poor offensive game, and his attention to detail on the defensive end off the ball was questionable to me. What I will remember about him, was his effort, and how he changed game 6 in the final 9 minutes. That's the AB we need. Bradley stopped being a player he wasn't,and he became the player he should be,and has shown signs of being. I believe the pressure got to Bradley a bit. Filling in for Rondo is not possible, but he was asked to do it.
“I’m going to work on everything,” Bradley said following the C’s 88-80 Game 6 loss to the Knicks on Friday night. “This is going to be an important summer for me. One of my first summers since I’ve been in the NBA where I’ll be able to workout, because of injuries. I’m excited for this summer.”
I agree with Bradley. This is great that he can workout. Rondo pick up your, and call the young man. This backcourt could be one of the the best defensive combos, and maybe Bradley can develop that corner three he wants so desperately to hit. I think Bradley has the work ethic to become a better player.
“Nobody likes to work out with me, because I work so hard in the offseason, to be honest,” Bradley said. “I just go hard, three-a-days, sometimes four-a-days. Most people don’t know how hard I work out during the offseason. There’s a reason why I go so hard during the season.”
Don't send your phone to voice mail if a teammate calls AB. If you work so hard teach anyone on your team that effort. Sometimes that can be contagious. Is Bradley the future backcourt mate with Rondo? I don't know, it's something that I hope for. I don't know if Bradley's defense alone can save his starting job. He doesn't need to become the next Joe Dumars, or whoever you want to compare him too. But he needs to find what makes him an efficient offensive player. We know his offensive strength is playing off of screens, and cutting to the basket. His offense is off the ball. We should expect Bradley to play and work harder. He's being payed 2.5 million season, and in the following season(2014-15 season) he's got a chance to leave the team. So this season could set up Bradley's future with this team, or elsewhere.
