Perseverance will keep you from falling. Falling prey to the darkness of defeat. The past is gone, the present lives, and what shall come to pass will be. In the present we have a Celtics team full of perseverance, and the poster Celtic would have to be Jeff Green. He's a year removed from open heart surgery, and his story, and season continue to wow many of us. His motor was off in the first couple of moths of the season, with a few start ups here and there.
It's never over till the end with this team. They seem to be striving with mind and might. So they may obtain glory, or they just might crash and burn in the blaze of glory.
"I wanted the ball, but I had to be a great decoy," Green said. "Like always, all the attention went to Paul and Kev; they doubled Kev on the pass and Kev made a great pass over the double team. I went up, tried to go up strong and it went in."
We should take comfort in the fact that things can always be worse. After you are done taking comfort in that fact. This season could go down as an odd one, and it's one that will showcase what being a Celtic is all about. Green is a good example of that, and another would be this team rallying around each other after the loss of Rondo.
We can find solace in the reality that no matter how much they prepare, and no matter how much they try to stay healthy. We are in for a treat when it's time for the playoffs. Nobody will take the Celtics lightly, and you can thank Green for some of that since his recent emergence.
