I disagree with Ainge on this, and I'll tell you why after you read the statement.
"I think Rondo said it best. They asked him how he would respond and he said, 'I'll adapt.' And, he needs to adapt. But I think it's more than that. I think it's an acknowledgement that this is the guy that runs the league. He's been running it for 30 years and I don't think anybody's out to get Rondo. I mean, he's put himself in this position, and I think he can get himself out."
Ainge won't say anything negative against Stern. It won't fix, or solve anything anyways. But the league has a list of guys who act out, or have a history. If you have a past in the NBA. The league has zero tolerance for guys who don't comply with them. The league could have told Danny Ferry to buzz off after he sent over a tape of the Rondo incident, and that's if you even want to call it that. Stern's reign will end soon, but don't get your hopes up. The guy who's taking his spot isn't any better.
Danny had this to say about Bradley returning to the lineup.
"You know, Avery's arrival was huge because our defense is now back to the defense that we were last year. And we were one of the top defensive teams in the league last year and this year we were 21st. And by putting Avery back in the starting lineup, all of a sudden our team is playing at the same level, if not better, than we did last year.
So, I know it's only a four-game sample or a five-game sample, but it's pretty impressive with the defense that we've played against very good competition as well. So, I think that you would have to say that Avery's impact has been huge. And obviously it isn't just Avery. But because of Avery, every other person's defense has picked up. And that's sort of KG-like."
Without question the team is better, and it worries me a bit. If we lose Bradley what happens to this team? I feel like others have improved. Lee seems worried about losing minutes so his defense has improved as well. I'm curious to see how this team comes together as we move on, and with Wilcox returning very soon. This team can get an idea if this is the team they want heading into the playoffs. Without a doubt Danny didn't waive the two rookies without a plan in place. If the C's continue this solid play. I don't want any trades. I would hope that a team waives a big, and we snag a big that way. We can hold out until March. Perhaps the Celtics find someone else before that.
