I knew Rondo was gone, but I was calm when it happened. I knew the streak was over. And I was upset. But honestly I'm proud of Rondo reaching Stockton for second all-time. I might be the only one behind Rondo. I know Rondo continues this ball of controversy But he did what was best for his leadership, and for his team. The refs blew tonight, and that's the first time I can say that this season. The Celtics finally caught up with the Nets in foul calls with 24. But a lot of those fouls were called when the game was over.
I thought Rondo wanted to inspire his team. And he did, but nothing was going the way it should have. Pierce missed a ton of free throws (6-of-11) that he normally makes. The Nets beat the Celtics. But the Nets beat the Celtics mainly because they played Atlanta Hawks Joe Johnson style.
This was no cheap shot. Rondo is a foot smaller than Kris. He faced up to Kris eye to eye, and man to man. Whatever the critics may say. Rondo, and the Celtics loss tonight, any maybe they lost a battle. But as they say, the war isn't over yet, and Rondo was sending a message. And to those saying Rondo only cared about the streak. He showed tonight he cares more about his teammates.
