Recap: C's escape Chicago with 101-95 win

Posted by shawn cassidy on November 12, 2012 at 11:00 PM

This was the Celtics at their best for most of the night. The Celtics ramped up the tempo from the jump, and  they committed only  one first-quarter turnover -- erupted for 33 points in the qyarter while shooting 63.6 percent from the floor.Great start, and that's what you want against a defense like the Bulls.

Boston's offense finally hit a drought in the final period and Chicago cut away 12-point fourth-quarter deficit down to 3 with 8:23 to go. At this point I thought, oh boy. Here we go, this reminds me of the past seasons when the Celtics collapse. But the Celtics rallied around each other, and Terry hit a pair of clutch jumpers, and Rondo connected with KG on two big alley-oops.

This game was full of drama, and with less than 30 seconds to go. Rondo had 9 dimes with the record on the line. He found Bass for his 10th assist, and the go ahead basket that gave the Celtics a 99-93 lead. KG, and Bass had solid games. Bass had 16 points, and KG had 15. Rondo almost pulled off a triple-double, and his 5 steals were great, and his defense was on point tonight.

I love this win tonight, and the Celtics may have found something. I'll have much more from this solid win.

What an exciting win. This team seems to be beginning to find itself, and I think it started with Rondo on defense.

Good game, my favorite of the season so far. I change for the best, and Rondo was out of his mind.

Our defense is coming together better and better each and every day. And Miami seems to be slipping defensively. I love it.

Rondo took advantage of a tough matchup for Chicago. Good for him. This is what we need from him. And more importantly, he seemed to stay tough on D, and the team played tough D as a whole, at least at times.

We still haven't seen the true Celtics yet, but they are getting there. Got to see Lee step up now on the defensive end. He's played well defensively, but we haven't seen him and Rondo terrorizing opponents as they should.
