Another over hyped trade deadline comes and goes

Posted by shawn cassidy on February 22, 2013 at 12:55 AM

It's feels like I just ate a pound of chocolate, and washed it down with a liter of soda. For the past two days, and leading to the 3pm deadline. I found myself glued to my phone, refreshing every second I could. I felt so gross for doing it, but it felt so good. I've found out that the build up, and drama surrounding the trade deadline is junk food for the mind. I feel like that every year around this time. The rumors, and the people reporting the rumors become even more odd. For those who follow 100's of people on twitter. You'll get what I'm saying. How many times did you see the tweets that would say. "Clippers hot on KG", or Clippers cool off on KG deal". Then about 15 minutes later you'll see a tweet saying talks back on. Look at Josh Smith. Every report indicated  that it was a done deal that Smith would be traded. Out of all the rumors. None of them came to pass.

J.J Redick was moved, but not to a team that he was rumored to go to. We all love to read this stuff though. We feed our eyes with this stuff. I report it this stuff on this blog because it's fun to talk about it. Plus I like to be sarcastic about it when I can. Basically the trade deadline is a fun distraction from the reality of how bad your team is, or  if you're looking for that one trade to take your team over the top. It's a time to get away from the game of basketball. I find the deadline to be comical. How do you guys feel about the over hyped trade season in the NBA?

Up until the Perk deal, I didn't mind it. Now it's just a time to sweat and fret and worry and hope that Ainge doesn't pull another massive stinker...

I like the 'takeway' that Redsarmy emphasized on twitter:

John Karalis ‏@RedsArmy_John
Should be noted... KG wouldn't waive his no-trade to play with Chris Paul, electing instead to play with Rondo next season.
14 hrs MrTripleDouble10 ‏@MrTrpleDouble10
So KG essentially had a chance to choose to play with CP3, but amongst other reasons, chose to stay here to play with Rondo instead.

Yeah,Id take that Paul. He picked his little buddy, and a fight this season. The no trade clause helps Danny right,or at least his name. If Kg was traded,he could turn it on him.
