I am of one of an estimated 800,000 to 1 million upstate New Yorkers who root for Boston in anything and everything over our arrogant and elitist neighbor to the south called New York City. Heck, I even enjoy seeing Boston beat up on its all time favorite whipping city, Buffalo.
New York fans need to consider the following statistics for the recently completed baseball season and the currently underway basketball, football and hockey seasons in 2013: NEW YORK TEAMS (including the Buffalo based ones) HAVE LOST 20 OF 29 GAMES IN ALL FOUR SPORTS TO BOSTON BASED TEAMS, AND HAVE BEEN OUTSCORED IN TERMS OF GOALS, POINTS AND RUNS BY 494 TO 407!
So, fans of New York City and State professional sports: WAVING THE WHITE FLAGS YET? SCREAMING FOR MERCY OR PITY? CRYING OUT "UNCLE"? Well, forget it, because when it comes to beating New York, Boston enjoys a new level of sadistic torture and bloodletting.
To our friends in Beantown and the Bay State, remember that you have a lot of supporters in upstate New York. And here is to a continued series of victories over New York teams, but please make them laughers rather than close ones.
