The Celtics went 0-2 against the Nets and Clippers this week, and the reunion didn't stop with the Celtics. Doc Rivers played KG and Paul's Nets a night after his warm welcome in Boston in which Boston lost, 104-96. On the flip side of Boston going 0-2 during this reunion week. Pierce and Garnett went 2-0 in a reunion tour of ex-Celtics this week. Doc Rivers ended with a 1-1 split, after losing to Brooklyn Thursday night.
Some quotes after the game
"I'll always have a special place for Doc," Garnett said.
"I was shocked that Kevin came over before the game because he has a routine," Rivers said. "I turned to (assistant Tyronn Lue) and said, 'Well, Kevin's going to struggle now. He just broke his routine.' But no, we talk all the time. It was nice. They were really happy about last night is basically what they both said."
Pierce chatted with Rivers a couple of times, joking that he knew all his plays.
"I grew under him," Pierce said. "I was a young player, played nine years with him, just continued to mature and become an all-around player under him. Before I was really known as a scorer and he took over and taught me the other parts of the game: the defense, the rebounding, the passing. He just helped my game grow and mature."
This week was pretty nice, but I'm pretty upset with the L's by the Celtics. The Celtics will see the Clippers again, and they'll see the Nets a few more times. Let's erase them L's next time.
