Are the Blazers really this good?

Posted by shawn cassidy on December 5, 2013 at 1:15 AM

This season has been odd so far. The East looks like left over Thanksgiving dinner after everyone has eaten more then enough. The Nets and Knicks look like lottery teams who were suposed to be in the thick of things in the East. The West has a bunch of strong teams, and one of those teams missed the playoffs last year, but so far this season the Blazers have the best record out west with a 16-3 record.

Are the Blazers legit contenders? They have one of my dream power forwards in LaMarcus Aldridge , and they also have the rookie of the year from last season in Damian Lillard.

Aldridge had a season-high 38 points and added 13 rebounds and the Portland Trail Blazers snapped Oklahoma City's eight-game winning streak with a 111-104 victory over the Thunder on Wednesday night. The Blazers so far have a great young team with a deep roster. As for Lillard he was the 6th pick, which is another example that the number one or number two pick doesn't mean you get the best player.

The Blazers have my attention and they just keep winning. They have some solid wins over the Pacers and now the Thunder. The NBA is taking notice of the 16-3 Western Conference leading Blazers.
