The talkin' box score: Boston Celtics - Miami Heat 111-110

Record: 3-4

It doesn’t get much better that this!! I don’t think I could have asked for a better way to begin the day this morning!! I mean, I’m struggling to put everything into words after looking at the summary of the game. All I can think about is that flashy buzzer beater at the end of the game and then my mind explodes like fireworks.

Everything looks good even reading the box score. We grabbed more rebounds, we limited a lot our turnover number, we had more points in the paint and our shooting percentage was really good. On the bad note, Miami shooting percentage was scary, especially the 67% of the fourth quarter, but we were able to held our own.

The hero of the night is of course Jeff Green. If I was in front of him right now, I’d grab him from the shoulders screaming “That’s you” in a Garnett-style way of celebrating. We know what he’s capable of doing, and we need him to do that. We hoped he could be trailing force behind our team, the guy that makes the play when it count most while Rondo is out and, man, didn’t he do that last night?! He’s growing with the team, and I hope he keeps doing that and find the consistency we need from him.

Kelly started his first game of his career against the Miami Heat in Miami. That’s not exactly an easy task. He struggled a bit with his shot going 3for9, but he made up for it playing hard for the team grabbing 8 boards to go along with 4 assist. I like the assist from Olynyk. Ainge told us that this was a smart guy that can play and move the ball, and what Kelly’s number are showing is exactly that.

Bradley came up big with 17 points and the bucket that cut our deficit to two points with just a few seconds left in the game. Even if now he’s playing his position as shooting guard, I probably expected him to collect more assist. We have a pretty choral offense right now and having played as a point guard for some time I thought could help him facilitating also the other players scoring.

Making Crawford our starting point guard while Rondo is out keeps paying off. I like the way he’s helping the team. I loved also the numbers of Pressey. 7 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assist. I want the Celtics to keep Phil and help him grow, I like his chances.

Our bench was great last night, with a great shooting percentage and a great effort off the glass, led by Sullinger and Wallace. Both guys had 3 turnovers, which is a little too much, but maybe that’s because they tried to create a great ball movement. What impressed me more about Wallace number is the team-high 7 assist. He seems to keep doing all the little things for the team. He really seems to be able to help the team coming off the bench than when he had the chance to start. He will have the chance to be really precious for our team being a veteran and a very good off the bench guy. Sully grabbed once again a team-high 8 boards tied with Kelly and was able to help with 12 points.

I’m really proud of our team. We are starting to really put everything together and it will be hard to keep doing it, but the fire is there and is burning bright today.
