Bob Ryan and Gary Tanguay chime in on Rondo and C's

Celtics nation is a buzz right now about Rondo, once again. We've been waiting for Ainge to speak about Rondo's return, and even about his intentions with Rondo as the centerpiece. Ainge said everything that I wanted to hear. He said Rondo is not being traded, and that he couldn't get aduqate value back for a top ten player like Rondo. Ainge also let us know that Rondo will likely be back a month into the season, if not a little longer. So what do some of the local media think of this? I saw this tweet by Tanguay last night.

Gary Tanguay @Gary_Tanguay

If Celts do not move Rondo they will stuck in 6th place for the next two years. #celticstalk”.

Give it a rest dude. This guy is always posting hate about Rondo, so let's move onto Mr. Rondo hater himself Bob Ryan.

CSNNE

We're buying and selling with Bob Ryan on Sports Tonight.

First up: Rondo needs until December to get healthy. Buy or sell?

Ryan is buying - he's not going to rush Rondo back.

"I'm going to go with the Derrick Rose theory that if there's the slightest doubt, add another week," Ryan said. "I supported Rose last year totally. he wanted to come back as 1005 package that he was or 99.9%, whatever he can be of that package. Rondo should be the same way for a team that is not going to be a contender, a threat, or even the big dream is to make the playoffs."

Ryan doesn't think the Celtics will be as bad as others do, and doesn't think they'll be a bottom 5 team.

I'm shocked I didn't read more hate from Ryan, and I'm shocked he thinks the Celtics will play better than expected. I have excepted the fact that we must be patient with Rondo's return, now we know how Bulls fans felt last season.

I'd like to think that Ryan has come to his senses. He may realize that the hounding from him and others likely contributed to Rondo's injury, pushing him to play outside himself, when what he needed to do was focus on what he does well and then push the envelope outward from there. Maybe his pal Cowens had a talk with him. "Give the kid a break, Bob. He's a great player, and he has potential to be even better."
