Question of the day: Which player stays from the Nets deal?

Posted by shawn cassidy on September 19, 2013 at 5:00 AM

This question is considering the long term. Which player do you believe remains with the Celtics for the long haul? Humprhies? His contract is up after this season, and he's made it clear that he wants to stay past his expiring deal. He's not 12 million good, but what about 5-6 million good? I'll have to see how he gels with Rondo and Stevens system before I past final judgement on him. I don't see him staying for the long haul though.

What about Gerald Wallace? He's locked in for three years, and at 10 million per season. His deal could be the hardest, and the C's could be stuck with it until the bitter end. Unless they find a desperate buyer at some point. He's likely here for the entire thing. Bogans is also another player with a three-year deal. The only difference is that he can be waived next summer, and the Celtics will have his 5 million plus Humprhies 12 million in cap space to play with. I think Bogans is a year rental. It's a shame I like his attitude, but that doesn't bring in wins all the time.

I would say the likely candidate to stick with the Celtics would be Brooks. But I think the Celtics are committed to Bradley far too much to allow  Brooks much time. I don't see many of these guys staying. I think the longest tenure Net from this deal will be Gerald Wallace because of his contract.

It's hard to say. Wallace might give us the enforcer we need, and his energy play might be a good fit. This is a team that is going to have a lot of movement, I think, and not just standing around running patterns. Bogans? Depends on how he affects the team as a leader. He almost certainly costs too much to keep. Humphries could be a good fit as a hustler who likes to rebound, but he'll have to re-sign for less to stay. For Brooks a lot could depend on how his three point shooting developes?

Wallace will be here his entire deal.I like Bogans mindset, but he's going to be a causality in Danny's building plan. Brooks could be a surprise.

I say we trade them all for Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. lol, and leave them Terry. Seriously though, I see Wallace as well staying, I think he's hated, and I think he will shock a lot of us.
