Pacers trade for Suns' Luis Scola

Posted by shawn cassidy on July 27, 2013 at 4:15 PM

Pacers made it official Saturday, making their tough front court, even tougher. The Pacers may have closed the gap against Miami with Scola, and the return of Granger. The Heat haven't done anything to their roster, besides using the amnesty clause on Mike Miller.

ESPN

The Phoenix Suns have traded forward Luis Scola to the Indiana Pacers for forward Gerald Green, center Miles Plumlee and a lottery-protected first-round draft pick.

Scola, a 6-foot-9 forward from Argentina, played his first five NBA seasons with the Houston Rockets before coming to Phoenix a year ago when the Suns submitted the winning bid under the league's amnesty rule. He appeared in all 82 games for the Suns, averaging 12.8 points and 6.6 rebounds. It was the fifth time in his career that he's played in all games.

The 6-foot-8 Green has played for six teams since coming to the NBA in 2005. The 6-11 Plumlee was selected in the first round by the Pacers last year, the 26th selection overall, but appeared in only 14 games.

Pacers are looking to make a trade. For Rondo? I hope not.

If they reach the Finals somehow then I could see the Pacers paying both since they have their 'Bird Rights'. I think the Pacers go with George, but what if the Lakers go after George, I believe he's from California. George helped the Pacers reach game 7 of the East Finals. Granger isn't worth the money he's being paid. If he wants more or the same then they need to move on.

Granger and George? Scola and West? I don't think they intend to keep all these guys.

They're defiantly going all in for this next season. This is their window, it's now or never. I like their chances by the day.

I like their chances, but I don't know that the piece they need is at SF or PF... gotta love the patient way Larry builds a team, but it worries me that I think he has eyes for Rondo... and he knows that Danny can be weak...
