Doc: "Rondo and I, our relationship has really grown and is good."

Doc had said this about his old point guard. "Rondo and I, our relationship has really grown and is good." Doc was asked why he wanted a change. "There's just no answer to it. It's not like I was looking for change. It just kind of came about." Love this guys answers. Actions Doc,actions. If you weren't looking for a change how did this come about?

Doc said he and Danny Ainge thought this was the "right thing to do." Looking at it, this was best for the Celtics. Rivers was not married on the fact that he had to build a team as Rondo as the focal point, that's why it hasn't happen yet, because Doc wasn't going to do it. Doc then said he needed a challenge? " I felt like I needed a change for my voice. I felt like a needed a change from a challenge standpoint." Winning in a title without the Big Three or an older KG and Pierce wasn't a challenge? Doc said he didn't push this deal, but Danny said the opposite yesterday.

This was a small portion of what Doc said. I'll have more on it later.

Sounds like his mouth was full of cotton. I agree - it was clear that he was truly never going to help design the team around Rondo, for whatever reason.

Yeah, Doc was not a fan of change. He didn't play young guys, and he only trusts veterans, and he never fully got Rondo

Doc left the team when they needed him most. I think they'll move on for the best, but it still should have been handled much differently

Maybe he just knows he's not right for Rondo
