Now that it looks like Doc has finally made his move, now that Doc is finally following (what appears to be) his dream of coaching Chris Paul, I think it should be clearer to folks that it was always going to be hard for Rondo to truly be Rondo while playing for a coach who always wanted him to be Chris Paul. The next step should tell us a lot about Danny's thinking. Is he ready to really build a team around Rondo? So far most fans seem to be primarily concerned, assuming Danny keeps Rondo, with how Rondo will react to the next coach and to his teammates. The shoe should be on the other foot. The concern should be, from now on, how will they react to Rondo. It's up to Danny to make it clear that that's how it's gonna be. The cart has been before the horse for several years now. The horse is Rondo. Put the horse first.
And commit, Danny. No more trade talk about Rondo. Take him off the table.
Ryan and Shaughnasty both confirm that the idea of Rondo leading the team is "ludicrous".
I'd say that confirms the opposite to what they say. Talk about sticks in the mud.
