I caught this game a bit late. The game started at 4pm on the West coast. So I tuned in late. When I was watching the game I was tempted to fast forward until the end. The Pacers were in command for a good chunk of the night, not by much, but they ran up the lead to 14 points, and they held a 10 point lead at the start of the 4th.
The Celtics simply refused to go into the night quietly. They battled back multiple times in this game. Bradley squeezed in for an uncontested layup with 1:21 to go to tie the game at 81. After each team missed chances to pull ahead, the Celtics got a final-shot opportunity. Green moved past, Garnett had the ball on the left elbow, Green then curled around and received the ball, storming the baseline. He lost control of the ball a bit but was able to muscle it in for the winning bucket with a half-second to go.
It was the best win of the season. They fought for this won, and they never gave in. This is why the Celtics can shock us, and they won't go down without a fight. Heart of a champion style basketball. The Celtics out scored the Pacers 25-13 in the 4th. The Celtics hung around the Pacers in rebounding totals 50-47 Pacers won. Celtics bench outscored the Pacers 29-16.The Celtics only shot 41%, but that's good enough against the best defensive team in the NBA this season, at least numbers wise. Good win guys, and stick around for more about the Celtics big win.
