Recap: Celtics lose close game 92-86

This game was winnable, and it was also a game that showed let down from the past game. I thought the Celtics were jobbed by the refs a bit tonight. I don't say that often, was it the reason the Celtics lost? I don't know, but I'll just say no. Because the Celtics went away from so many good things that happened in Phoenix.  The Celtics only had 16 assists, and that's their season average, and below their total against the Suns. The ball movement was not consistent. I wasn't a fan of Bradley coming up and taking a jumper within 7 seconds of the possession. The Celtics don't run Dantoni's offense.

Wesley Matthews scored a game-high 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting, hitting five 3-pointers. The Celtics were down 89-86, and with under a minute to go. Wesley put the dagger in the Celtics heart with a three bomb to give the Blazers a 92-86 lead. Kevin Garnett added 20 points and nine rebounds. Pierce was keeping the C's in the game, and he  finished with 23 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds. Personally this was one of the hardest losses that I have reacted to. I felt like the Celtics should have won this game, and they needed to win this game. I also felt that a few calls swung this game out of the Celtics hands, and that hurts when it's a close game like Sunday's night game. On the other hand the Celtics needed more from the bench that was highly praised by everyone, and they needed more passing, and better defensive stops.

Jeff Green finished with 11 points off of 4-of-12 shooting. What doesn't show in his performance was his effort. He was aggressive, and that's all I want. He was taking the ball to the rack, and he wasn't getting the calls on the road. The Celtics play again Monday night, and that game seems to be one of those must win games. The Celtics are currently 7th in the East, and just  they're 3 and a half games back from the 4th seed. I honestly want to avoid the 4th seed. I think the Celtics should want to avoid Miami until the East Finals, and that's if they get past a team like Indiana, or New York. The Celtics currently hold a two game lead over the Bucks who are the 8th seed. It's clear that the Celtics need to get comfortable on the road, because they won't have home court in any round.

Mathews going off was Rondo's fault.

Green is a HOFer.
