"IN RONDO WE TRUST"

Celtics Blog Post New Entry

Boston's 4th quarter performance showed guts

"I didn't like how we played most of the game. We just kind of hung in there," Rivers told reporters in Toronto. "The beginning of the game I called a timeout -- I just didn't think we played with a lot of speed and a lot of force. And give them credit, I think some of it was them, too. This was a good win for us because we didn't have it at stages and we just kind of kept looking for the right lineup, the right group, and that last group, we were really small, and it did wonders. Just the ball movement offensively. I thought Kevin just is anchoring on the post, but I thought everybody did little things to help us win."

It's been said, life is what you make it, but personally, I agree, and disagree.  For sometimes things can happen, things you can't for see. Like Rondo, or Sully out for the season. No one knows, which way the wind blows, it can go in any direction. Nothing has been ideal this season, and the Celtics have shown guts in the face of adversity. Just like past seasons when the chips are stacked against them.

"Everybody did a lot of little things," Rivers said. "Jeff really struggled on offense, but he made huge plays down the stretch defensively. He got two big steals on the sidelines. Jet is our new shot-blocker. I mean, Rudy Gay has a dunk and Jason Terry got a block. I mean, that's almost impossible, and he did it. He just stuck his hand in there and made a play."

I agree with Doc on this. Green wasn't impacting the game with massive dunks, but he was having another defensive game. Green had 8 solid points. Terry's play was a key play for the Celtics down the stretch in the 4th. The Celtics will need to ride this emotion, and grit if they have any real chance at mixing up the Eastern Conference landscape without Rondo.

They are playing great ball. I wish another player could go down so that they could play even better.

DON'T SAY THAT! Lol. Urgency is what it is in myy book. They can't fall back on Rondo, he can't save them anymore. So they got to play.

The Celtics have shown us how they can win in many ways. Close games, coming from behind. But tonight is the biggest game of the season Lakers at home, despite both teams records.
