"IN RONDO WE TRUST"

Celtics Blog Post New Entry

Recap: C's crumble down the stretch lose 89-86 to the Knicks

No fighting, no chippy play. It was a close game all the way, and when it mattered the Celtics couldn't get over the hump. Rondo scored Boston's last points in the final 5 minutes of the game. He had a triple-double his 27th all-time. Rondo had 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. Everyone else struggled.

Pierce came out scoring Boston's first five points, but after he struggled for most of the night. He did have 19 points at halftime, but a lot of those points came from the foul line. His scoring ability has kicked over, and his shot doesn't look the same. It's flat, and erratic. Paul scored just three points in the second half. Nobody else stepped up tonight when it mattered. Paul had two crucial turnovers in the final minute of the game.

He tried to grab a Rondo pass with one damn hand. Just like baseball use two hands. The Celtics had some great defensive moments, and they had major breakdowns. The Celtics were down 10 at one point in the 4th, and that's when Rondo took over. Rajon has gotten better after having a mini slump towards the end of December, and the early part of January.

And if our egos as fans isn't wounded right now. Marv Albert was saying the Celtics had fake crowd noise. Fans on twitter went nuts, and I was one of them, and the Celtics released  this statement.

"Regarding comments on tonight's @NBAonTNT broadcast, the @Celtics have never used artificial crowd noise."

The Celtics are below rock bottom, and it's hard to keep faith. The Celtics could figure it out, but it feels like Rondo is the driver, and nobdoy wants to get on the bus. Or there to old to get up in time to flag the driver. Tonight we may have seen a first round matchup for the Celtics. But the Celtics would be the 7th or 8th seed.

Carmelo Anthony scored a game-high 28 points on 11-of-28 shooting to go along with nine rebounds, three assists. He's got his payback in.

Sorry Rondo, your crew is too old,and too young to win.

The team played like a team, and played hard, and Rondo played like its best player and leader. If we could use that as a base every night, we could turn this season around.
